JDM 5 speed AWD Transmission

Need some help with this one. I'm getting a 5 speed AWD JDM Transmission. It comes with the following goodies: 5 speed awd transmission, clutch, flywheel, starter, and transfer case. All said parts are from a 95 - 98 donor from Japan. The car I have a a 95 Talon TSI AWD US Spec. The question I have is what JDM parts are compatible with the US Spec. All parts not used will be up for sale pending inspection. Thanks for the help everyone. I plan on purchasing this tranny later tonight or first thing in the morning. Thanks again. Josh

One thing to find out if you can before you place the order is the transmission VIN.. and if it has one. I have a JDM Trans for my 1G, however mine does NOT have a VIN on it. If you can locate the VIN you _should_ be able to determine what kind of gears, synchros, etc. it has internally.. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but perhaps these threads [RESOLVED] Transmissions (bar codes, serial numbers) and JDM 2G Manual AWD Transmisson's can be.

What jdm car is it out of because i know there is an issue with the ring gear and pinion ratios for the front diff with jdm trannys that doesnt match up with the us vehicles. The case may be that you will hafta swap out the ring gear for a 58 tooth gear, matching pinion, and speed sensor so that all four wheels are spinning at the same speed and speedo works in your 95.

Like I had stated earlier, it's out of of 95 - 97 GSX/Talon TSI AWD with about 45k on it from Japan. I'll send them an email requesting the tranny vin. The only reason I am going with a JDM is cause it's cheaper than getting mine rebuilt. 1k for the jdm vs 2k to get mine redone. The only thong wrong with mine is 1st gear. All others are fine. Syncros I think.
